How Catch Confirmation Works — and Why It Matters

Every catch on the leaderboard has been verified by a fellow angler. Here is how the confirmation system works.

Why Confirmation Exists

Catch confirmation keeps the My Fishing Crew leaderboard honest. Instead of self-reported scores, every catch needs to be verified by another angler in your group before it counts officially.

The Confirmation Flow

  1. You log a catch during an open session
  2. When you close the session, you nominate a crew member
  3. The nominated angler receives a notification
  4. They review each catch and approve or reject it
  5. You finalize the session — confirmed catches enter the stats

What Happens if a Catch is Rejected?

Rejected catches don't count toward the leaderboard or trophy wall, but they remain in your personal history. If you believe a catch was rejected unfairly, you can discuss it with your crew — the app doesn't have an appeal process, but your group can agree to re-open the process if needed.

Solo Mode — No Confirmation Needed

Solo catches get "Unconfirmed" status automatically. They appear in your personal statistics but not on the group leaderboard or trophy wall. This is by design — the leaderboard requires a second pair of eyes.

Minimum Confirmations Setting

Group owners can set how many confirmations a catch needs before it counts (1 to 5). The default is 1. Higher minimums make the leaderboard more rigorous — useful for competitive groups.
