Fishers of the American Albacore Fishing Association in action. AAFA harvests albacore tuna using pole&line and surface troll methods. Fish strike bait on a barbless hook near the surface and are lifted aboard the vessel one at a time, avoiding overfishing and bycatch. This fishery is the first tuna fishery in the world to be certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
