Mossy Creek Taxidermy Having a love for the outdoors and hunting seasons being so short, I wanted to find a way to keep myself involved with the outdoor lifestyle. I started taxidermy at the young age of nine, spending summers with my aunt and uncle who were both taxidermists. I saw how they loved to create a piece of art that would would remind the hunter oh his trophy hunt forever. Being a fulltime firefighter, I am afforded the opportunity to devote time to a second passion. As a hunter, one thing I always hated about taxidermists was waiting a year or more to receive my mount. I, as a taxidermist, aim to have mounts back to their owners less than six months after I receive it. Quality work is another one of the most important aspects of taxidermy for me. After killing a trophy buck, I anticipated the arrival of the mount and was disappointed at the quality of the work. That was the moment I knew I would personally persue taxidermy. I vowed to never create a product that I would not hang on my own wall.
