Cole's Taxidermy Cole's Taxidermy was established in 1968, by David Cole as a part time hobby. This 1200 sq. ft. studio is still at its original location in Excel, Alabama. David also worked fulltime at Alabama River Pulp Mill to support his wife Carol and their three sons Allen, Steve, and Michael. In April of 2004 David retired and began working fulltime in his studio. And also helped Michael establish a second Coles Taxidermy, a 575 sq. ft. studio in Milton, Florida. David, and Steve handle the work in Alabama while Michael handles the work from Florida. Their turn around time on most mounts is 3 to 4 months. They each enjoy different areas of taxidermy David and Steve both specialize in the whitetail deer and other fur bearing mammals. Michael puts his interest in fish painting and whitetail deer.
